Green Seal Program

The Benefits of Standards, Education and
Certification for the Cleaning Service Industry

Meet Our Speakers from two important organizations:

Building Wellness Institute

Marion E. Stecklow, MT, CIE, CHCM, ICE
Executive Director

The Building Wellness Institute helps facility managers, building owners, building service contractors (BSCs), and environmental services staff protect the health and comfort of their building occupants through comprehensive training, consulting and assessment programs. The Building Wellness Institute has the only Green Seal compliant, accredited training program in the U.S.

Ms. Stecklow has more than 25 years of experience as an occupational and environmental health specialist. Drawing on her extensive experience with OSHA, health surveillance studies of occupational exposures, indoor air quality monitoring and working within the cleaning industry for several years, Marion has developed programs that assist Building Owners, Property and Facility Managers, and Building Service Contractors with understanding and complying with standards such as Green Seal, ISSA-CIMS, and LEED (USGBC). Her green, healthy cleaning training program was recently accredited as a Green Seal accredited training program-the first in the US.

Linda H. Chipperfield
Vice President of Marketing & Outreach

Green Seal works with manufacturers, industry sectors, purchasing groups and governments at all levels to "green" the production and purchasing chain. We utilize a life-cycle approach, which means we evaluate a product or service beginning with material extraction, continuing with manufacturing and use, and ending with recycling and disposal. Products and services only become Green Seal certified after rigorous testing and evaluation, including on-site visits to manufacturing and cleaning services’ facilities

As V.P. of Marketing and Outreach at Green Seal, Linda works to promote science-based standards and the power of the marketplace to create a more sustainable world.

Linda has 25 years of experience in creative brand marketing. Prior to joining Green Seal in 2006, she was Creative Director and Team Leader at Noble & Associates, a national communications agency. As an environmental activist, Linda co-founded Southwest Missouri Citizens for Clean Energy, and served on the Executive Committee for the Missouri Sierra Club and the Regional Conservation Committee for the National Sierra Club. Linda currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Global Ecolabeling Network.
